Maui's terrain runs the full spectrum — from the summit of Haleakalā at 10,000 feet to the remote Hana coast where the road closes and cell service disappears for miles. That range makes real survival skills more than a novelty here. Hawaii Survival School offers private group training on Maui and public courses at our Oahu North Shore base for residents and visitors who want to go deeper into the island they call home.
From Sea Level to 10,000 Feet
Haleakalā's summit is cold, dry, and exposed — a different survival environment than Maui's lush rainforest valleys or the exposed lava coast near Kanaio. Hawaii Survival School training covers the principles that apply across all of it: shelter, fire, water, and food from what the land actually provides.
Hana Coast & Remote Terrain
The Road to Hana is beautiful until a landslide closes it. The back side of Haleakalā and the Kīpahulu area sit far from hospitals and emergency services. Wilderness First Aid certification gives Maui outdoor guides, hikers, and residents the tools to handle medical emergencies when help is still an hour away.

Island Survival Skills Training Adventure (4 Hours)
A hands-on 4-hour adventure on Oahu's wild North Shore: Build primitive shelters, start friction fire, cook wild foods, and master core island survival skills. Great for families, beginners, and all ages. (Private groups trainings also available!)
Wilderness First Aid Training Hawaii
A 16-hour WFA certification course covering essential wilderness first aid skills for preventing and responding to outdoor medical emergencies. Nationally recognized via NASAR and valid for two years, ideal for guides, educators, and outdoor enthusiasts.
Summer Camp
An immersive multi-day summer camp (daytime only) where kids learn real island survival skills: shelter building, friction fire, wild food foraging, and more, in the wilds of the North Shore of Oahu. Designed for Ages 7-13, with safety and adventure in equal measure.
