Wilderness First Aid Certification
Hawaii Survival School's 16-hour WFA certification course is designed to give students comprehensive, hands-on training covering critical first aid concepts and skills for preventing and responding properly to wilderness medical emergencies.
The course consists of two 8-hour days of first aid training in the wild outdoors, ensuring an authentic in-field learning environment. Students who successfully complete all coursework receive a NASAR (National Association for Search and Rescue) WFA certification, good for two years.
Oahu's trails and coastlines are stunning — and genuinely remote. Whether you're leading groups on the Ko'olau Ridge, surfing the North Shore, or working outdoors anywhere on the island, help can be a long way off when something goes wrong. This training gives you the skills to assess, manage, and stabilize emergencies in the field until evacuation is possible.
